A tribute to Mike and Mike

Early morning witty comments, and the endless knowledge of sports, Mike and Mike in the Morning entertain me throughout the late nights. It is because of these two why I lack sleep every single weeknight. Mike and Mike airs on ESPN2 every weekday and they provide me with so much knowledge and laughter each morning that I cannot put the remote down. It is because of these two why I am up until 4am atleast on most nights. I finish my last games of madden for the night and turn these guys on. Mike Greenberg is a metrosexual nerd that loves Enrique Inglesias but yet he is one of the best sports anchors I have ever heard. I idolize this guy and without these two in my life, I would be left feeling empty every night. These two are the most entertaining duo in sports and they provide me with all that is good in the name of sports. I am only bored when they only talk about baseball but that is a rare case. You guys might think im crazy or gay but honestly if you ought to watch these guys. For those of you who already do I know you can honestly say this is the best sports programming you have ever seen. I would rant on more about these guys but I have a paper and my last final tomorrow but I can guarantee you that before I go to sleep tonight, I will be tuned into Mike and Mike in the Morning.

Fantasy Football

The fantasy football season has come to an end for me atleast.... I have spent countles hours reading artcicles, analyzing my team, along with my opponents team, and adding my favorite players to my team. I use my fantasy bias when I do fantasy drafts in madden and when I play games I try to get the ball to players on my fantasy team. I love the NFl and I love the actual NFl draft, in the offseason I spend many many hours analyzing certains teams and their potential for next year. Its ridiculous how much time I spend reading about the NFL....and yet my actual knowledge for every team does me no good when it comes to Fantasy Football. I need a new approach next year, because the previous approach I have been taking obviously isn't working out.

When it comes to games on Sunday , this is how my mind works:
1. Root for the Eagles
2. Root for the Chargers
3. Root for the Cardinals
4. Root for my fantasy team
5. Root against the Seahawks
6. Root for Shaun Alexander and Matt Hasselbeck to get hurt
7. Cheer for the oposing team that hurts the players mentioned above



Michael Vick has been sentences to 23 months in jail, he has been convicted on charges of dog fighting. With good behavior Vick could be released as early as 18 months which is mid 2009. Vick was one of the most electrifying Qb's in NFL history, with his two dimensional style he was able to elude defenders in and outside of the pocket, and launch a 65 yard pass with pinpoint accuracy. Vick deserved what he got, but its a shame to see so much talent being wasted. Life is all about making decisions and he has made some bad decisions. Well I mean even though he was exciting and talented, its not like he was that good. I mean it did take him 5 years to develope in Jim Mora Jr's West Coast Offense, and when it came to passing the ball less than 25 yards he would miss his 6' 8" recievers by 10 yards. But hey he runs a 4.3 -40?!?! You know what he has that no other NFL player has his own chew toy.... How about that Tom Brady?



On another note
I have 2 finals and a test, a concert review to write, and a film score paper. Then Im done. I wish I was as lucky as Kristi, shes already done. Its ok if I get through this its smooth sailing to Arizona for a week to see my beautiful girlfriend Kristi, I love you.

Almost 5 semesters down... ? to go....

As the 1st semester of my 3rd year in college comes to a close, I know I wasted thousands of dollars in the past few months. I show up to a majority of my classes late, when I do show up to class instead of paying attention and taking notes, I read nonsense about the NFL and fantasy football. I attend about 3/4 of my classes a week, and I never do assigned reading every night. During the school week on a daily basis my day goes like this.... Wake Up, Go to school, Eat, Nap, Phone, Gym, and from 12-330 in the morning I play madden. Instead of studying I play madden, instead of preparing for my future I play madden, instead of sleeping so I am more focused for the next day I play madden. Now when it's crunch time, and I have a paper to write as my final for my Diversity and Discrimination class, I am sitting at my desk writing a starting/writing a fuckin blog, and Sportscenter is on next to me.... Maybe if I do horribly this semester it will teach me a lesson and I will be more focused in the future.

Anyways on to what matters most... The NFL

I live and die with the Eagles, this is the second time in 7 years when the Eagles havent made the playoffs. I grew up cheering for the Eagles, and it is a shitty feeling to see your team play horribly. Im sure all you harcore Charger fans know the feeling also, considering in the past how ever many years the Chargers have only made the playoffs twice.... Anyway in the past 2 years when healthy, I have seen Donovan McNabb play his absolute worst football, he has been so inconsistant, and there are so many reasons why he is playing this bad. It hurts me to hear trade rumors and talks about McNabb not returning to the Eagles next year but whatever happens I will always be a McNabb fan. I grew up idolizing him, and all of you give me shit for it. I don't know why you guys do it because he is a great player. But what really boggles my mind is the only time you guys talk trash is when he is playing good, it makes no sense. He has been my idol for so many years and is one of the most exciting quarterbacks in football. If you take the time to actually see the plays he makes while under pressure, I am sure you will gain some respect for him. I wish that Donovan McNabb could be an Eagle for the remainder of his career but that is very unlikely. His contract jumps a lump sum in the next three years and it will be hard for the Eagles to keep him at that price after next year. If any of you guys are out there reading this I know what comments will follow and it will go a little something like this:

Hey Nelson, Donovan McNabb is a bust. He can't ever stay healthy, and he throws up in games because he can't handle the pressure. McNabb's new bald haircut makes him look like a monkey... Terrell Owens should have been the one to stay in Philly not McNabb. If I had a dollar for everytime McNabb went down with an injury i'd be a millionaire.

Ok enough with the McNabb trash talk guys.... its ridiculous.
